Systems of gymnastics have been in vented, whereby all the muscles may be brought into barmonioua action, and thus uniformity of growth is pro duced, which increases the size and tone of the parts. Now, it is as possible.indeed quite as common, to weaken the muscles of the stomach and other digestive organs: to weaken the muscles of thebeart and other circulatory organs by improper use. as to weaken the muscles of the arms, legs, and back by inattention to the lawa of nature Improper food, irregular meals, great distress of mind, long continued grief, exposure, over-work, over-eating, Idleness, want of food, and a great variety of cheum• stances may mar, obstruct, or destroy. mime of the mul tifarious organs of the body so as to yonder the per foi mance of these functions impossible, and this is called disease. The judicious application of remedial exercise restored the functions of the exterior organs; the judicious application of remedial exercise will restore the functions of the interior organs. If no t why not? Experience teaches us how to strengthen the outer organs, ani we believe and are re tored. Experience also teaches how to strengthen the inner muscles. Why not believe and be healddi' Exer rise improves the muscular system because it gives it power to resist changes of temperature and versatility to accommodate itself to the vicissitudes that surround it. As long as the natural forces of the body, both external and internal, are able to resist whatever is antagonistic to the normal condition. of the organs there can be no disease; and only when under vposure to malaria, to heat, to cold, to sudden changes, dre.., overcome the health-preserving forces of the body, does disease become possible. It follows, therefore, that \SILVIS% YE INCREASES THE HEALTH PORCH IN THE OS•itVt i l OF THE SOOr. PEEN ENTS DISEASE. This is ILXlOMflriC.,rind needs no proof.
