ANOTHER ARREST.—Ed ward Early was arrested en Saturday by Policeman Jerman, of the Ele venth District, upon the charge of having been concerned in the assault upon Policemen Mc- Clintock and Horrocks, at Frankford, last week. The officers were, beaten by some parties in a Democratic parade. Early was captain of one of the companies, and, it is alleged, he drew his sword and cut McClintock in the head, injuring him so severely that his life is considered in dan ger. The accused has been committed to await the result of the injuries of Officer McClintock. Lanai. FUNERAL.—The funeral of air. Heraian Pfaff took place yesterday, and, was attended by the William B. ROBBERY .- The home of Martin Orth, at -Manartnir avenue' and Lyceum avenue, in Manayunk, was entered on Saturday evening, be tween nine, and ten o'clock, through a back second-story window, which was reached from the roof of the kitchen. The upper part of the house was ransacked. Beds were ripped open and bureau drawers were examined. A watch and chain, a revolver, and $5OO in money were stolen. The money was 'taken out of a card table. ASSAULTING A - POLICEMAN.-Hugh McCouogy is a good Democrat He got drunk on Saturday night, and was arrested at Front and Callowhlli streets by Police Coffin; of the Seventh District. He resisted violently, and • said that he was a "Saymore and Blair man," and wasn't going to be taken by a Republican policeman. He then assaulted Coffin. Alderman Toland held the pri soner in $BOO bail for trial. HIGHWAY' ROBBERY.—Between twelve and one o'clock yesterday morning John Dries, of Wood bury, N. J., was knocked down 'at Front and Chestnut streets, and was robbed of his pocket book containing $35. William Roberts was ar rested by Policeman James Camac, upon the charge of having committed the robbery. He was Bent below by Alderman Carpenter. Roberts is an Englishman and has only been in this country one week. BAND ArrecKED.—The Allegheny City Band, which came here with the Boys In Blue, stopped in front of a lager beer saloon on Race street above, Seventh, early on Saturday morning, to serenade the proprietor. The members were attacked by a gang of ruffians, supposed to be Democrats, and were driven into the house and the establishment was then stoned. VIOLATING TIIE NAVIGATION LAWS —Peter Hurey was arrested on Saturday at Manaynuk for violating the navigation laws by attempting to run his boat into the lock,contrary to regulations, and thereby damaging the locks. He was taken before Alderman Ramsdell and was committed in di fault of $5OO bail. CHARGED wrrn ROBBERY.—John Frisby and John Rick, colored, were arrested on Saturday upon the charge of having entered the house of Benj. F. Holl, No. 2115 Green street, in July last, and stolen therefrom a coat valued at $35. The garment was sold for $3. The accused wore com mitted to answer. THE RESULT OF A FlGHT.—Robert SpFilman and Thomas Wallace got into a fight at Front and Spruce streets last night. During the squab ble Spellman got Wallace's finger in his month and nearly bit it off. He was arrested and taken before Alderman Carpenter, who committed him to answer. RlOT.—YeEterday afternoon a row occurred at Sixteenth and Market streets, between the adhe rents of two rival fire companies. One of the participants was arrested by Lieutenant Con nelly, but was rescued from him. A maia named Davidson was afterwards captured. He was committed by Alderman Jones. ACCIDENT.—This morning, about half past six o'clock, Charles Bartel, aged sixteen years, fell from a coal cart at Fifth street and' Girard av enue, and was run over. He was seriously in jured and was conveyed to his home, No. 422 Moyer street. LARCENY OF A WATCH.-Wm. Paul Alexander was arrested this morning, at Eighth and Spring Garden streets, on the charge of having stolen a watch, valued at $25, from Samuel Parry. He was taken before Alderman Massey, and was held .in $1,500 bail to answer at Court. SMASIMO Doons —Adam Hilt has been com mitted by Alderman Eggleton to answer the charge el smashing the door of a lager beer sa loon, on Third stied below Girard avenue, by throwing paving stones at it. RESCUED FROII DROWNING.-A man named James Beatty walked into the Delaware, at Vine street wharf, last evening. He was rescued from drowning by Officer Dennard, of the Harbor Police. LAI:CM:Y.—Jacob Seidel was arrested on Satur day night, by the Harbor Police, for the larceny of a half ton of pig iron from Noble street wharf. He was taken before Aid. Toland, and was com mitted for trial. DEATH OF A WELL-KNOWN CITIZEN.--Mr. Wm. McKibben, one of the proprietors of the Mer chants' Hotel, in this city, died on Saturday morning, ar:er a brief Illness. The deceased was much respected by a large circle of acquaintances. FIRE.—The bur ing of some material in the engine room of the turner shop of Charles Ku merle, at N 05.1130 and 1132 Charlotte st., caused an alarm of fire about four o'clock yesterday morning.
