—Mas Killed— Another Stabbbd,— The Dele
gate election ot the Democratic party was held
last evening In all the precincts of the city. In
many of the divisions there was considerable
fighting and plenty of bloody noses.

"Marriott street, Michael Gallon was knocked
down and dragged into the street, where he was
beaten and stabbed. At the time the bloody attack
was made a pistol shot was fired, *nd It was sup
•posed that the ball had entered Gallen s body, as
he was noticed to throw up his hands as li in
jrreatagony. He was carried to the Pennsylva
ila Hospital, where he died in abont twenty
minutes after his admittance. , Tb e stabbing oc
curred between 6 and 7 o dock. .Tthe deceased
was stationed at the window of the election poll,
challenging voters. It Is sold that he had a club
in his hands, which he threatened to use on the
head of any one who doubted his right to be
there. A person who came up to vote had some
words withhim, and this resulted in the knock
down and stabbing. The deceased was a /Ingle
man, and was abont twenty-three years old. He

lice arrested Dennis Mcßride, John Tague,
Thomas Holland, Michael Mcßride, Joseph Grav
land and Geo. Faulkner upon the charge of
having been concerned In the affair. Michael
Mcßride, who is alleged to have dono the etib
fcing, claims that Gallon beat him with, a base
hall club. Gravland is alleged to have fired the
■pistol. The prisoners were all locked up in the
Central Station, to await the result of the Cor
in front of O’Neill’s
tavern, atFffthand Jefferson streets, about half
-past six o'clock last evening. He was a candi

delegate Burns, It,is alleged, eeized Glrard and
cut him in tho groin, causing a painful, though
mot dangerous wound., Bums was arrested. This
morning he had a hearing before Alderman

Tflght occurred at the Precinct House at Eighth
and Buttonwood streets. A man had his jaw
broken. One arrest was made. _
In the Sixth Precinct of the Twenty-fifth Ward
the polls were closed at the usual time. After
wards another party came along, the polls were
opened again, and the voting continued until
three o’clock tills morning. No disturbance oc-

In the 10th division of the Eighteenth Ward
the polls were dosed in consequence of a quarrel
v about placing a watcher Inside.
Boat Race on the Delaware Yesterday.—
A. race between two sixteen-feet sailing eklffiJ—
the A. L. Dager and the Jacob Mariner—came off
on the Delaware. The match was for a purseo*
S5OO. The boats left Palmer street wharf, Ken
Kington, at 8M o’dock in the morning; and pro
ceeded to Chester buoy and returned. Consider
able interest was manifested in the race, and ntt
merous small crafts with flying colors foUowed
the racing boats over the course. The fleet pro
eented a very fine appearance os it saUed do wn
the river. A fine breeze was prevailing, and at
times the race became quite exciting, altiiough
the indications were, soon after starting, that the
A. L. Dager would be the winner. That boat
rrcached theqlty on the return.trip abont three
o’clock in the afternoon: The Manner woe then

Robbery, and Kecovery of the Btolkn
—Four colored boys named Frank
Eddy, Lewie Johnson, George Rich and Theo.
Miller were arrested at Eighth and South streets,
by Policeman Joseph Glenn, of the Fifth District
upon the charge ot larceny. Rich Is tho eon of
a washerwoman, and was sent with some dothes
lo the house of Miss Parker, No. 908Sprnoe
street. Johnson accompanied him. From the
house a gold watch and chain, and..h,number or,
trinkets, valued at $250, Were stolen. Officer
(Glenn was notified,and chased the boys to Eighth
and South streets. The watch was found on Rich.
The trinkets had been divided and each of the
■juveniles had some in his shoes. The accused
•were all committed by Alderman Morrow.
Policeman Seriously Injured.— Charles Wil
liamson, William Erwin and Charles Riley got
into a'fight at Fourth and South streets yester
day. Policemen Berry, Nutt and Richardson
came np and arrested the men. Williamson, ft Is
alleged, kicked Officer Richardson and broke the
cap of hia knee. The prisoners were all taken
before Aid- Tittermary and were committed to
prison.
Chaboed with Robbery.— E. Smith was ar
xestedyeßterday and taken before Aid. Tittermary
mpon the-charge of having stolen several boxes of
pennies from the office of E. Carpen
ler street, near Second. Each box contained $l2
and they were carried oil' at different times
About $3O of the stolen money were recovered
Smith waß committed.
Serious Accident.— Arthur McChrystal, while
jjyiving a wagon loaded with stoves, at Broad
and Willow streets, fell off and was run over
He was seriously injured. Policeman Johnson
aecnred the use of the ambulance of tbe Good Wil
Company, and had McChrystal conveyed
lo the Pennsylvania HospitaL
Assault with a Beer Glass.— Win. Parrel
■went into Reidbach’s lager beer saloon, on
Fifth street, above Cherry, last night, and got
into a quarrel with another man. It is alleged
that he struck the man on the head with a beer
glass, causing a severe wound. Farrell was or
ated, and,.was held to ball by Alderman Godbou.
Bridging the Delaware.— A mass-meeting
•will be held on Friday, Jnne 26,1868, at Board of
Trade Rooms,in reference to the construction bf
a bridge across the Delaware. Mayor McMlchael
•will preside.
Attempted Suicide. —A man named Robert
Hiller, aged fifty years, residing in Mary’s place,
lombard street, west of Seventeenth, attempted
to commit suicide by cutting his throat. He was
taken to the Almßhouse.
Fatal Result Christian Kurtz, who waß run
over by a car at Fifth street and Girard Avenue,
died thfs morning at the St. Joseph’s Hospital.
