Allison, this morning, whilst allowing the third, decided against the fifth. The ono allowed continues the present Board in office for three years, dividing them into classes. The section disallowed, divested the stockholders in general meeting of the power to enact by-laws, conferring that, and all other _powers of the corporation, on the Di rectors. The matter comes before the stock holders for further action on next Tuesday eve ning, at a meeting called in our advertising columns, to be held in the Library Room. More:e PAINTINGS.—On Monday and Tuesday evenings, April 27th and 28th, at 3,‘ before 8 o'clock, will be sold without reserve at B. Scott's Gallery,lo2o Chestmat street, about 200 splen didly framed modern paintings of the American snit English schools, comprising landscapes; river and mountain views, interiors, &c. Among the collection is one by Robert Street, painted in 1821, entitled "The Maniac." This well known painting, for vigor of conception and complete ness of design, is unsurpassed bY any work of art ever exhibited in this country. Now open for exhibition. Tint MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL.—The annual repor of J. Howard Taylor, M. D., Resident Physician at the Municipal Hospital, shows that during the year 1867, 53 patients were admitted to that insti tution. or that number 44 were whites and e blacks, •The diseases were; Variolti, 18; vario bold, 27; rubeola, 5; 'vancelia, 1; cholera, 1; no dieeese, 1. The nativilles of the patients were: United States 84: Ireland, 5; Germany, 5; Eng land, 4; Brazil, 2;• Portugal, 2; Nova Scotia, 1. Of the cases under treatment 7 proved fatal. NEW SIINDAY-SCSOOL.—The old Grammar School-house, on Nichols street, Ridge avenue and Twenty-second street, has been fitted up for Sunday-school purposes, and will be used as the McDowell Memorial Sabbath-school and Preach ing Station. Rev. D. A. Cunningham, Pastor of the Spring Garden Presbyterian Church, will open the new school to-morrow afternoon at 8 o'clock. There will be lay preaching at the same place on Tuesday evening next at 8 o'clock. Ronartty.—Last evening, about nine o'clock, sf#oo in United States notes were stolen from the house of James Fitzpatrick, at Newbold and Callowhill streets. in the Fifteenth Ward. The family were absent at the time. Mr. Fitzpatrick keeps a tavern, and it is supposed the thief passed through the bar-room to the staircase leading upstairs. The money was taken from the drawer of a bureau to the second story. BREACH OF THE PEAOE.-A young man named John Stutzline was arrested last evening while in the act of turning off the gas on the staircase lead ing to the family circle at the Arch Street Thea tre. Several times before the gas has been turned out and the patrons of the establishment have been annoyed and msaulted upon the staircase. Stutzline was taken before Alderman Godbon and was held to bail to keep the peace. Fortmosr VESSEL9.—During the year 1867, 466 foreign vessels were visited by the Port Physi cian, 388 by the Lazaretto Physician, making a total of 854 vessels. Of that number 49 were ships; 81 steamers, 305 brigs, 205 barks, and 214 schooners. The whole number of foreign pas sengers brought by these vessels was 2,102. Foimn DROWN ED.—The body of an unknown white man was found In the Delaware, at Green Street Wharf, this morning. It is supposed that the man walked overboard sometime during last night.
