ANbw Depot. —The increasing passenger .'• Irayel qn.atheNofffiPehnfylVani&'railroacl has induced the managementtb remove the:' teftnihal station in tflircttv ffOih: the pro seht depot, oh Third street,* AboVe Thomp son, to the corner of Berks and American streets, where .they bays erected a large and snbstdiitlolßdifioe. adailrably adapted to the purposes of pasaeßger travel; with aU’-the ' appliances which .should be found inawell ordered establish tuentofthe kind. Although, some distance further removed'from the centre of the city than' their ' present ter ' minus, ample facilities ofaccess are'offered ■' in the oity passenger cars, no less than three lines converging in the immediate Vicinity . Of the new depot, We notice, within the . enclosure of their grounds at this point, ' several new passenger cars, intended for • their through line to WOkesbarre, which for exoellenoe of finish and durability of mate rial may challenge competition. By reference to. the advertisement of the ' Company, a change of hours, to' take effect January 1, 1867, incident upon the removal : of the depot, will be noticed, as also the va rious lines of city cars that run to or near ' the depot. 1 The Fbauds on the Intebnal Reve nue.—One of the Sunday papers, yester >" day. contained what purported to i>e are ’ . pent of the evidence taken in this city, by Mri Darling’s Congressional Committee, in the matter of alleged frauds on the Internal Revenue", We haveit upon the best autho rity that the report in question is almost - endraly a fabrication, and that it was evi dently gotten np in the interest Of an bffi clal, who desires to be confirmed, and who has, oh former occasions, resorted to sharp praotloes to accomplish his ends. The report • gives derailed acoounts of what witnesses ‘‘ saidwho had not been before theCommitte* at.al),lt puts language that was never uttered in the months of others, and brings forth imaginary parties to glorify the official in question. It is a sharp expedient to secure ' Senatorial support in Executive Sessions; but the Congressional Committee’s antidote will probably accompany the lying news - paper bane to Washington, and the triok. will Ml of its object. I Sunday School Anniveksaby.— The . Church of the Epiphany was crammed to suffocation yesterday afternoon, on the 00. . caalon of the anniversary celebration of the Sunday Schools. The schools numbering over a thousand children occupied the whole ground floor of the church. Tne exercises consisted of singing-a number of hymns in beautiful style, an address by theßeotor, Rev. Dr. Newton and the pre sentation of the Christinas offerings of the schools. The offerings, amounting to about $2,000, were accompanied with bouquets which were arranged in a beautiful cross, six feet high, surmounted by a crown in gas-jets ana supported by a base on the face of which the word LOVE was formed in bouquets presented by the Mission School of the Church. The whole celebration passed off with much Bplrit and was alike credit able to reotor, teachers and scholars. His recovery is considered im possible. There was nothing about his per son to indicate bis name or address. It is supposed that the man had been beaten and ; thrown into the place where he was fonnd. - He was apparently about twenty-eight years of age, ana was very respectably dressed in ' dark clothing. Snow Stobsl—Snow commenced felting in this cify about 3 o'clock this morning,’ and continued to come down steadily until after U o’clock. Since that time the white flakes have continued to fall, but not so thick or fast. At noon about two inches on a level had fallen, bnt owing to the high winds there were heavy drifts, and in some E laces the snow was upwards of a foot in epth.
