Visas Irons Fire In Tlclubarg. A despatch from Vicksbargi Miss., Dec. 24tbj say's—A terrific fire brnkeout in Mo •• ris’ Block, at the corner of Clay and Pro it levee, at eight o’clock last night, destroying the entire block of thirty houses, thence to the block bounded by Levee Clay, Mul berry and Crawford streets. The enure block of thirty-three houses was destroyed Thencecast of Mulberry, between Cravrford and Olay streets, to Washington, destroying thirteen houses; thence to the corner of Washington and Crawford streets, destroy ing four three-story buildings, j It then spread to the corner of Mai berry and Cra v - ford streets, destroying ten houses; in all about one hundred /buildings, of which thirty-eight were large briok stores. Two white children and four negroes perishedTinthediames, andslx negroeswete kijled accidentally. One hundred, families are houseless. The fire resulted from care lessness in Meyers’s bar-room. The ouild ings and atreetsoare; crowded, with debris and goods. Great credit is due to Generals Dudley and Wood, and their men, for their superhuman efforts to subdue the flames and prevent pillage. Five or six buildings were blown up to arrest thepfogre'saof the flames. The .theatre caught Are but the City Bank and' teltegraph office escaped. The. farmer is badly damaged. The total l6ss is estimated at $2,000,000, about one-fourth of which is insured. The following'lsenpartial list of the suf ferers, F. C. Waldaworth, stoves and hollow ware; Jaques Selem, Imaum of Muscat, and Syed Toorkey, claimant of that dignity. Byed,Belem, to protect, himself against ms enemy, built a barricade of bags of rice and dates across the eastern part of the town. Syed Toorkey, being very short of provi sions, made a desperate sortie from Fort Jelalli, which he held, carried off the entire barricade, and lived for some time upon it. Syed Selem made another little mistake. He called upon some of the wild tribes of Arabs in the interior to come and aid him; but, upon second thoughts, he came to the conclusion that they might prove harder to get rid of than Syed Toorkey, so he reoalled his invitation, and placed guns in all the roads to keep baok his allies if they should nsist on coming.
