©ITT BUIIEra. Larceny op Monet.— George Blaobburn bad a hearing-before Alderman Beitler, this morning, upon the charge of larceny. He was arrested by Sergeant Grout. He has been in the habit of haDgihg about the store of Weselston & Remaine, produce dealers, •at Dock street wharf, and so became known to the customers. Ifia alleged that he col leoted $BOO from two of the customers with out authority, and spent the money. He was committed in default of 51,500 bail -to answer at Court. ■ Countryman Robbed. —A boatman from Reading came to the city on Wednesday night and took lodgings at a honse on Beach street, below Brown. He went to bed and placed his pocket-book containing $3O under his pillow. When he got up in the morning he found that the money had been abstracted from the wallet. George Hankins, Mary Warren and-Maria Keen were, arrested on suspicion of having committed the robbery. They were sent below by Aid. Toland. A pfointment in the Navy. —Mr. Mar tin V. B. Haines, of this city, yesterday re ceived a commission as Acting Master in the TJ. S. Navy, having passed a very satis factory, examination before the naval board at Hartford, Conn. He; served as Acting Master in the volunteer servioe, and com manded the gunboat Pawpaw, of the Mis sissippi squadron. Since his return to-the -oily, be, has been a member of the Polioe Department.
