From the Concord Monitor.] LEO INTERBOG&TITR. O Constellation Leo, Will you please to tell the reason We all were kept so wide awake at this in clement season, Contracting colds in every limb and twinges of rheumatics, With staring atyour gleaming phiz from chill th . d-story attics? If those sky-rockets did come off, now pray Why shouldn't we Have seen the show as well as they who watched across the sea? • Why, waste the lot allowed us when the blinding sun was shining, .A.nd let five thousand blaze away while all the world sat dining? O Leo cruel Leo, when you knew that we were sold, And saw our faces still upturned for two nights through the cold, • No doubt you whisked your tail in glee, and smirked your savage face, To think the grand explosion had gone whizzing on through space. If, like a gay deceiver, thus you play your little jokes, Depriving men of healthy sleep, and cheat ing honest folks, Think you, when you cry "Wolf" again, that we shall all believe, And give you one more chance up there to chuckle in your sleeve ? You'll try the game again, it seems, as soon as it. appears You've swung around the circle there for three and thirty years; But though astronomers may strive to see it from their towers, You'll find it mighty hard, my friend, to fool such heads as ours. For if the books should promise you would caper round ti'e skies, And shake the starry rockets down to nearly daze our eyes, I would not lift my . doubting head to watch your face again Till fairly pelted into faith by storms of diamond rain. Of all the sounding humbugs that I ever Came across, From Du Chaillu's gorilla up to Barnum's wooly horse, I'd swear, if it were proper, that until this latest hour The world's supremest humbug is a me teoric shower. The form is the strongest known; its strength to resist internal Pressure:very greatunweakened as it is by punehing or riveting, which lessens the strength of the wrought iron boiler plate about fbrty per cent. No other steam generator possesses this property of retie under extreme pressure without injury to itself, and thus preventing disaster. It is not seriously aff.cted by corrosion, which so soon impairs the strength of the wrought iron boiler, It figts economy in fuel, equal to the best boilers. It gets up steam quickly, aid with little fuel—pro duces supert eated steam without separate apparatus, and is not liable to priming or foaming. Ills easily transported, and may be taken apart so that no piece need weigh more tnan eighty pounds. In difficult places of access, the largest boiler may be pint througtean opening one :foot &inure. It 13 readily cleaned inside and out. Under ordinary circumstances it is kept free from permanent deposit by blowing the water entirely out under full pressure once a week. It requires no special ski lin its .management. Injured parts can be renewed wiih great facility, as they are uniform in shape and size. When renewed the entire boiler remains as,good as new. The greater part of the boiler will never need renewal, unless unfairly used. A boiler can be increased to any extent by simply adding to its width, and being the multiplication of a single form, its strerigh remains the same for all sizes. It has less weight and takes less than oneetalf the ground area of the ordinary cylinder boiler, without being increased in height.
