From Canada.
QUEBEC, November 10th.—A. large num
ber of menu! Her Majesty's steamer Aurora
are under 'orders to hold themselves in
readiness to proceed to the Western lakes,
where they will be stationed for the winter.
Intelligence has been received that,owing
to the failure of the fisheries of Labrador
the coast inhabitants and the. North shore;
have been rendered destitute, unless re
lief is immediately provide& The - herring
fisheries are said to be a complete :failure,
and the prospects are said to be fearfal to
contemplate,
The Government has placed a steamer at
the disposal of 'the charitable for the trans
portation of supplies, which will leave in a
few days. Aid in any sort of money or
goods may be sent to the Rev. Mr.Bolwood,
Quebec.
