Loveaire and three of his officers were arrested and charged with the larceny of $lOO belonging to Gd 8e men. It was sworn-positively that Lieut Loveaire was behind the and received the money. He showed conclu sively that he was in bed at the time he was alleged to have taken the money, and the charge was dismissed by Alderman Harley. Then Lieut. Loveaire entered suit, against Lanegan and Hodges. They were held in $1,500 bail for their appearance at Court. COURTS. Oyer and Terminer— Judges Allison, and Peirce.—Gilbert Weitman was put on trial this morning charged with caasing the death of Daniel Ringler. The defendant and deceased were neighbors in St. John street, near Poplar, andon Sunday afternoon, Au gUat J2th last, got into a quarrel at Ringler’s door. Weitman made a remark about ob taining a second wife, and Ringler objected to the language being used in tha presence of his daughter. Weitman retorted' that Ringler was a fool if be considered that he had been insulting. This led to a retort, and Ringler proposed to fight. The parties en gaged in a scuffle, and both fell to the ground heavily, Weitman on top with his knees on Ringler’s stomach. The men were sepa rated, and Ringler, who was in ill-health, was found to be injured. He died in two days, and a postmortem examination dis closed the fact that his bowels had been rup tured.
