South America. `The 'United States steamer Bienville, cCommander Reed Werden, seven guns, arrived at Aspinwall on the sth instant, to relieve the.steamer Florida, which will sail fok St. Thomas on the arrival of the mails from New York. Both these ships are at attached to the West India Squadron. The Panama Star and Herald contains the following intelligence: Surmises are still rife as to the intentions of the Commander of the Spanish squadron in the Pacific. The last account of the in vaders is, that the fleet was seen 500 miles below Iquique, steaming southwest, evi dently bound through the Straits to Monte video for supplies. Two vessels of the squad son had separated from the fleet, and pro /ably had been despatched to Manilla, where the Spaniards have a large store of :munitions of .war, so it is not improbable the entire fleet may again meet in a few anontha on the coast, fully equipped for another encounter. The last steamer from Peru brought up about one hundred and eighty Spanish sub jects, who have been compelled to leave that country under a decree of the Peruvian Government issued immediately after the bombardment of Callao, declaring that no Spaniards should be permitted to remain in the Republic beyond sixty days of the 4lecree. A most lamentable and fatal calamity, causing the loss of life of ten persons, oc curred at Valparaiso on the 3d of May. A German named Flach, had constructed a .submarine boat, intended as a torpedo. On the morning of the 3d he made several sue •cessful experiments in sinking and raising the boat in four fathoms of water. He then „got a party of friends on board, the names of the majority of whom have been ascer tained, namely, Flach's son, a boy fourteen years old; Valentin Baum, Gustav Maas, August Warumth, German Schmidt, Louis Gremwhakle Adolfo Pnlgar, Francisco liodriguez, Wad two Frenchmen. With them he proceeded some distance -out in the harbor, and there again sunk his -boat with himself and friends on board, in thirty fathoms. No anxiety was felt about the expedition for some time, Flach having stated that' he could remain under water -easily for the space of six or seven hours, but as the boat did not make its appearance .about this time, considerable anxiety was •created, and as evening advanced the anxiety increased. Unfortunately, before going down Flach was so confident in the success of his expe riments that he would not allow any buoy or rope to be attached to the boat, and thus no search could be made for them with any certainty of success. Every effort, how ever to find them was made by divers and otherwise, but no traces were had until the Sth, when a diver discovered the boat, but at such a depth as to render it impossible for him to make a rope fast to it. At the latest dates we find no intelligence of the boat being raised, so that the cause of the misfortune is still a mystery. Mr. :Vlach leaves a wife and seven children, and most of the others also leave families. The non-payment of the first installment of the debt due by Ecuador to the United states in November, 1862, is likely to lead to a positive demand on the part of the lat ter government, and with that view the subject has recently been brought before Congress by the President. Prize Jf'ljght. It had been understood for upwards of a month past that a prize fight would take Slace down the Potomac river, between amuel Collier, of Baltimore (who whipped Rash Bolster, of this city, a few weeks since) and Barney Aaron, of New York. Accord ingly two fine steamers were chartered to leave Washington on the night of Tuesday last, with the combatants and those who might be let into the secret and procure tickets to witness the mill. As early as ten o'clock on Tuesday eve ning the ticket-holders began to appear at :Seventeenth street wharf, arriving in squads -of from two to ten until the boats left the 'wharf. Aaron and the New York men - went on one boat, and Collier and the Balti more men boarded the other, Washinto nians and Philadelphians choosing one or the other boats. At about fifteen minutes past four o'clock the last boat landed at , ^Gunston's Landing, near Pohick creek, and about three miles below White House Land ing, on the Virginia side of the river. About one hour was spent in selecting a site, which was finally staked off in a pine . grove, about a mile back of the river. Two umpires and a timer were with diffi -culty selected, and they took their positions, the two combatants, in the meantime, tak ing off their duds and appearing in their Sighting costume. In this dress Collier ap peared to the best advantage, being broader .across the shoulders and his flesh appa rently tougher than that of Barney. Collier is about 23 years old, 5 feet 51 inches high, and weighing 1261 pounds. Aaron is about 33 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, and weighs 123 pounds. The seconds of Aaron were Dan. Carrigan .and Dunney Harris, and those of Collier were Jack Fitzgerald, of Baltimore, and I)enny Kerrigan, of New York. The fight, yestorday morning, lasted two hours and five minutes, and forty-six rounds - were fought. Collier won by hi 9 great powers of endurance, but Aaron had a great advantage in the matter of science. It is estimated that about $5,000 changed hands. In the afternoon the police arrested Sam mei Collier, of Baltimore, and Barney Aaron, the victor and the vanquished. Be ing too badly injured to be removed from - their lodgings, the officers were left in -charge_ of them. Seventeen others were arrested and escorted to the police station. 'The parties, or a number of them, will be held for a requisition from the Governor of - Virginia, on a charge of engaging in and :aiding and abetting prize fighting. From Mexico. GALusroN, Texas, June 20.—The steam er Crescent has arrived. She brings a copy -of the extra Rio Grande Courier, or the 18th inst., which contains the details of the cap ture by the Liberal forces, under Trevine, -of a large merchandise train from Ilatamo -ras to the interior. The train wasconvoyed by ten Imperialist companies, numbering :350 men, under Captain Hoppa, 100 gueril las, made up of Confederates and 1,500 Mex ican Imperialists. It had eight pieces of artillery and six Mexican guns. The fight lasted one hour, when the train was captured on the 16th, about three leagues from Can:iargo. Cavalo, 'Marengo and Escobado, with their .commands, had placed themselves under . Trevine. The Liberals numbered 2,500, and were well armed and equipped. The train contained merchandise and ammunition of great value. General Alvarez, who is wounded, passed - through Reynosa on Saturday night. Sev eral officers of his command arrived at Mat *mores and confirm the statement of the capture of 800 prisoners of Olvara's com mand. The convoy was also taken to Camargo 'under double guard, with orders from Gen eral Escobado not to allow anything to be touched. Rumor says the Mexican Imperialists changed sides in the fight.
