THE FOURTH WARD HOMICIDE— CORO NER'S INQUEST.—Coroner Taylor held an inquest on Saturday afternoon upon the body of Arnold Gilhouse, whose death from a blow was mentioned in the BULLETIN of Saturday. Mrs. Anna Gilhouse, testified—Reside at 723 Passyunk road for fourteen yeara;know Deveny; came to my house about ten o'clock yesterday morning; he came and bought two quarts of lager, and we drank it all; he remained until five o'clock; he and I were talking about old times, dro.; he remained all day; the quarrel was caused by Deveny saying that I ought not to be married to a Dutchman; my husband said he was as good as an Irishman; I sat on stairs and Gilhouse said: "If you say I am not fit to keep Anna I will show you, and you are a son of a b—h;" Deveny then struck Gilhouse twice, and the children commenced crying, and Gilhouse put Deveney out; Gilhouse then took a skillet out of the front door, and De veny took it out of his hand and struckhim on the head; this happened on the other side of the street. Gilhouse fell opposite my house, and fell near the gutter; he never opened his eyes; he laid there until picked up, and was then brought into the house; sent for Dr. Reed, but he would not come; I was short of money; my husband said no word after he was struck; all they drank was in the house; I first knew Deveny about one year and a half ago; he and my hus band were the best of friends; when my husband was in the army Deveny called to see me when I had the rheumatism. I had not seen him for over a year nntilyesterday. Other witnesses were examined, but no facts were elicited.
