CITY B Time IvollEAsnD AssEsSIBISNTS.-- Appli cations for divisions of property and the abatement of assessments are now being heard by the Board of _Revision. Upwards of five hundred persons have, thus far, asked for a division of property so that the same can be assessed in their own names. The assessors have been directed to make a duplicate of the assessment of new property and, additions made to old buildings. This assessment has added about $1,400,000 to the real estate for 1866, upon which the present rate of tax will have to be paid. The abate ments, duplicate assessments; and errors of quantity of land, &c., made thus far will not amount to one-third ofthe sum that has been added to the duplicate since the organi zation of the Board. MISSIONARY MEETING.—A meeting of the Missionary Society connected with the Afri can M. E. Church wasiheld last evening; in the Bethel Church, Rev. Stephen Smith pre - aided. An address by Rev. John D. Brown, Corresponding Secretary of the Board of Missions, showed that the African M. E. Church in Virginia, North Carolina, South • Carolina and Georgia is rapidly growing. In some of the States there is a very large ' , •44;elembership, and the Church property is quite valuable. Bishop Campbell, who has been traveling in the Southwest for two years past, spoke in reference to the freed men, and showed the great need of mission aries in the valley of the Mississippi and the means to support them. Rev. J. Walker Jackson and Rev. Alfred Cooknum also de livered addresses. STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL—From an an nouncement elsewhere it will be seen that a Strawberry Festival and fair, for the sale of fancy and useful articles, began in the Lec ture-room of -the First Reformed Dutch Church. corner of Seventh and Spring Gar den streets, yesterday. From a circular, it appears that the ladies and gentlemen en gaged in this church enterprise have deter mined to make it unusually mercantile in its character, as they are prepared to sell,by sample, a large variety of articles at the regular market prices, such as coal, medi cines, washing - mach in es , furniture, coal oil, photographs, groceries, stationery, con fections, perfumery, et cetera. In such a display our citizens will have the opportu nity of spending their money to advantage, and contributing to a worthy object at the same time. A sufficiently large piece of the wall was broken away to admit of a man passing through. THE WALNET.-Mr. Edwin Booth last evening repeated his superb personation of Bertuccio, in "The Fool's Revenge," sup ported by the following cast: Serafino Dell'Aquila, a Poet and Improvisatore, Charles Barron; Galeotto Manfredi, Lord of Faenza, S. K. Chester; Guido Malatesta, an old Condotiere, T. C. Green; Baldassare To relli, a Noble, J. M. Barron; Glan Maria Ordelaffi, a Noble, Jas. Taylor; Ascanio, a Page, C. V. Hess; Bernardo Ascolti, a Flo rentine Envoy, E. Struthers; Francesca Bentivoglio, wife of Manfredi; Fiordelisa, daughter of Bertuccio, Miss Effie Germon; Ginevra, wife of Malatsta, Mrs. S. K.Ches ter; Brigitte, Bertuccio's servant, Miss An drews. Rarely do we see a drama so well cast, and rarely do we witness so masterly an exhibition of passion and power as that exhibited by Mr. Booth in this wonderful part. Pride, scorn, despair, hate, love and penitence all are depicted with a feeling and a force which are perfectly marvellous, and which hold the audience literally en chained. The theatre was crowded to suffo cation last evening by one of those intelli gent audiences so characteristic of the Wal nut, and every spectator seemed to be swayed at the will of the hero to sympathy with every phase of passion. We regard Bertuccfo as Mr. Booth's greatest effort. Miss Germon and the gentlemen of the com pany all Acted admirably. "The Fool's Re venge" will be repeated to-morrow evening. To-night we have "The Stranger" and "The Honey Moon." THE ARCH.—Miss Lucy Rushton repeats her representation of Rosalind, in "As You Like It," this evening. It will be well cast throughout. [Dr. SETSEB is a physician of over twenty years' experience, and a graduate of the Jefferson Medical ollm, and of the University ofMedicine and Surgery of Philadelphia] H. T. TUF-r xreorm.—Lear sir :—ln regard to the question asked me as to my opinion about Buchu, I would say that I have used and sold the article in various forms Dar the past thirty years. I do not think there Is any form or preparation 'alit I have not used or known to be used in the various diseases where such medicate agent would be indicated. You are aware, as well as myself, that it has been extensively employed in the various diseases of the bladder and kidneys, and the reputation it has acquired in my judgment is warranted by the facts. I have seen and used, as before stated, every form of Buchu—the powdered leaves, the simple decoction, tincture, fluid extracts—and I am net cognizant of any preparation of that plant at all equal to yours. Twelve years' experience ought, I think, to give me the right to judge of its merits, and without prejudice or par tialliy-Itglivne yours precedence over all others. Ido n<* %aloe a g according to its bulk; if I did other Buchus would out-do yours; but I hold to the doctrine that bulk and quantity did not make up value—if they did, a copper cent would be worth more than a gold dollar. I value your Buchu for its effect on patients. I have cured with it and seen cured with it, more diseases of the bladder and kidneys than I have ever seen cared with any other Bnchn, or any other proprietary corn pound of whatever name. Respectfully yours, etC., GEORGE H. REVISER, M. D., No. 140 Wood street, Pittsburgh, Pa. August 11,1865.
