The Select and Cdramon Councils of the city of Philadelphia do ordain that the city Solicitor be and he is hereby empowered to exam ine the title to the whole of League Island, in the First Ward of the city of Philadelphia, now owned by the Pennsy.lvania Company for Insurances on Lives and Granting Annuities ' excepting about one acre thereof, which is owned by Joseph 0. Harris; and if he approve the same, to hay.. a proper con vey-ance in ice made to the city of Philadelphia of the whole of said Island, with all the rights and appurtenances incident thereto Six. 1 That the sum of three hundred and forty thousand dollars be and the same is hereby appro priated for the purchase of League Island, to be re. funded from the proceeds of a loan hereafter to be created for that purpose, of which appropriation twenty thousand dollars shall - be paid to the afore said Joseph C.
