I'ASHIOM NOTES.
Ladies who wear elaborate jewelry to tbe
breakfast table show a great lack of refine
ment. A caution has bean given by tbo doctors
gainst the ladies wearing green tarlatan
dresses or trimmings.
Nahant is now forsaken except by the
dwelUrs in summer cottages, wbilu fashion
abln Boston rushes to Swatupscott.
Jenkins bos found out a ladies gambling
bouse at Saratoga, and describes its mag
uiOceoce aud babitues.
It is an exception to tbe title of the sea
soo to make a suit without an overskirt, or
else a casque that has tbe same effect.
Tbe most stylish corsage for dresses or
pongee, silk or grenadine over silk, has a
sharply poiuted basque bebind, and round
front.
Long gold ear-rings nearly touching tbe
shoulders, of tbe Quest Blagree work, and
necklace and pendant to mulch, Is the latest
Paris fashion. ' '
Tbe Lady Henrietta cbapeau is one or
the latest styles of bonnets. It has a large
border and rounded crown and the tulle of
which it is made Is stretched, quite plain,
over the shape of tbe bonnet.
A fourth unmarried daughter in good
health, and with a widb to go out in tbe
evening, is a great social problem. If the
nineteenth century sokes it, Its time will
not bavo baen passed in vaio.
At tbe St. Marks Hotel at Etaten Island
there are a unmber of unmarried men upend
ing tbe summer, and there ore but tuiee
unmarried ladWs in tbe bouse. At most
of the hotels it is just the reverse.

tbe rate of 150 barrels per day steadily In
creasing to 200 barrels which it is now
yielding. Tbe McCray & Donagby well,
struck Sunday morning is claimed by many
to be doing to-day 400 barrels but we place
ber at 150 per day, making a daily yield
for the farm of C03 barrels. Tbesu two
wells, together with tbe Banner well un the
Balzol farm, which Is close by, are yielding
almost 1,000 barrels per day. Can anybody
wonder at tbe excitement at tbls point, or
that people aro migrating from other sec
