On. Ni:ws. A new well was struck on
the Chicago tract. fc'hiitnburg, on Tuesday
Just. It is owned by Messrs. Patterson &
Dickey, of Petroleum Centre, and is doing
a good 59 barrels per day of green oil.
Another Well was struck on tie tame
tract on Monday Inst. Owned hy Taylor
& Wood, of Titusviile, and is yielding
about 33 barrels per dny.
Art old well on Lease 21, Stevenson farm,
owned hy Patterson & Dickey of this place,
nod which was shut down and abandoned
(the bole being plugged with clay from the
liottom to tbo top to prevent tho water frmn
running In and Holding tho surrounding
wells) three years ago. was 'cleaned out
about two weeks mo anil started pumping
on Tuesday last and is now yielding 25 bar.

stimulating other to the same good work,
in evidence of which we understand that
the Ocean Oil Company are about to start
up three or four old wells ou Ihut farm at

The Arnold & riiir.ney well No. 4. on
the Mullory fur in, mention of which we
run de a few days since as flowing at inter
vals, before being down, has been completed
and started pumping on Tuesday, yielding
about fotly barrels during tbe lira, twenty
four bouts. Tho second twenlj-lour hours,
ending yesterday, It only pumped 12 bar
rels. One or two morn now derrick bare been
put up on tho McCr.iy larm within a day or
two.
There was a lame crowd in attendance at
tho fair last evonin j and every thins passed
off very jil-aantly. Tho muslo by the
Columbia Corbet Bind was charming; the
smiles of the ludii s wns still more charm
ing; tbe refreshments were excellent, and
the good felin evinced by all was the sub
jectof general remark. Tho voting Is be
coming lively. Much credit Is duo Father

which the programme has been carried out
