Crane, which took plaee at bis residence in this place, at 4 1-4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, was not an un expected event, ai be bad been in very bad state for some days previous to bis demise, jot has cast gloom of sadness over a large portion ot our community, among whom be bad long been known as an bonest and up right citizen, and one whose loss will be se verely felt nod long mourn, il liy large cir cle of friends and acquaintances. Mr. C. was born in Richmond, Chittenden county, Vermont, in the mootb or April, 1820, and at the time of bis death was aged 49 years and 7 months. At an early age he moved into New York State and settled at Fulton, at which place be resided for many years, and where be was married. He came to the oil region in the year I860, and imme diately went into business as an oil produ cer, being largely interested iu the develop ment of the oil territory in this vicinity. For tbe past few years be bad been engaged in the business of refining oil, under the firm name oi Crane, Tbacker & Co., one of tbe oldest Arms in this section. He loaves a wife and four children, also a sister, Mrs. M. L. Bates, to mourn his death. His remaius will be taken to Fulton, N. Y., where be will be buried with Masooio honors. Funeral services will be held at tbe late residence of the deceased at 10 a. m , to morrow forenoon, and tbe remains Will be taken away on tbe 11 o'clock train. New Dbdo Store. Griffith Bros, will open their new drug store, opposite the Opera House, Washington street, to-day. They bave laid in a large stood of drugs, medicines, toilet articles, perfumeries,; &o. These gentlemen are just starting in bus!" nets and should receive a liberal share o' the pnbllc patronage. Tbe Niagara Farm is steadily improving in production. On the 31st day of October tbe production of tbe farm was 292 barrels, and onjtue 30 of Nov., (Yesterday) the pro duction was 400 barrels. Tbe Superintend ent of this Farm, ullages the tanks evory day at noon and consequently tbe produc tion is accurately and satisfactorily known. We learn a new well was struck on Fri day las: the Miller Farm, opposite Fos ter Station, on the Allegheny Valley R. R., and is dulng 25 barrels per diem. Wm. Roth, and a Mr. Miller, or Tarr Farm, are sole proprietors. The TituBvllle Herald comes to us this morning in a bran new dress.. It presents a line appearance. They bad traveled steadily, beg ging food on the way, sometimes . failing and thirsting for days, but continuing their j mmoy the while, as it' the route ubouuded in extravagant plenty.
