A yeung man named Eugeno Tburbor was ar rested by Deputy Sheriff Kinney this morn ing, charged with stealing $25 from Simon Beck, and $130 from Obed J. Knapp, last nigbt, on the Story Farm. ' These men Knapp and Beck, are employed upon a well on the Storey I arm, and while sleeping in their apartments near tbo engine bouse Tburbor entered tbe building and took the money from tbetr person. Suspicion resting upon Thurber a search warrant was issued against him, and upon searching his person nearly all the money was found and identi fied. Yesterday morning the tor pepa factory of tbe Oriental Torpedo Com pany, situated on the bill a short distance from Franklin, exploded with terrific, force. The building was blown Into fragments, and Dr. Fowler, of Buffalo, who was engag ed in preparing a torpedo at tbe time, was shockingly mutilated and died a few min utes afterward. Tbe factory contained several loaded torpedoes and a quantity of fulminating powder. The shock was dis tinctly felt In Franklin. It is reported tbat tbe explosion was caused by tbe unfortunate mau above named having screwed tbe cap too tight upon tbe torpedo wbicb be was preparing. Herald.
