In a recent sermon Mr. Ileechor pitied
the devil after the following fashion: ' I
am informed that, before the commutation
system was abandoned by the ferry company,
men of propeity and good standing in socio
ty would boldly declare that , they bad a

ibey hud none, for the sake of going through
without paying! They did this when the
ferrjnge was one cent! I pity the devil!
I do not know what he does with such men
like ilium! f cannot understand how these
exiguous, thrice-fquocied men can be
managed!" .
