This question ought not to be settled by

question of Law Reform, and ought to be
determined as such. CALTTS thought an

ought not to be allowed to testify. It is
sad to think of so imperial an Intellect
overmastered by so ignoble a prejud!ce or
warped so lamentably by the spirit of the
age in which he lived. But lawyers and
