the quarter ending July 31st of the present year,
no lees than seven hundred and one letters were

Office at Washingtia. Aside from those, many
are mailed with enema.. Wimp upon them, which

In the United States District Court on Satur
day, the case of Della W. Goheen, Samuel E.
lint Mart and John Jewell, indicted for attempt
ing to pass counterfeit United States currency,
was renamed, and after the examination of a
large Cumber of witnesses, all of whom testified
to the good character of the defendants, and
some of whom accounted for their poesesaion of
the money, the case was submitted to the Jury,
and a verdict of sot guilty rendered. The pris
oners were discharged by proclamation.
The case of •the United States vs. James Pren

currency, was continued until the October term,
with peremptory order for trial at that Court.
