(PEG][ TESTEEDAT'S EVENING GAZETTE. A Bounty Jumper In Trouble Mayor Lowry was called upon to-day by a fellow giving the name of Charles Williams, who asked his Honor If he did not recollect him as a witness ins case of robbery which occurred NM time since at the railroad depot. The Mayor recalled the case to which he alluded, and In response to inquiries as to his present via. it, Williams stated that he had enlisted In Mead ville, In August last, and on reachieg Camp Reynolds had deposited WO of his bounty In the First National Bank of this city, through an agent of the Christian Commission. The deposit was made on the la of Septeniber, but ho had lost tile certificate, and his obJedt was to get the Mayor td touch for his identity, that he might draw his money. The Mayor suspected that there was something wrong about the fellow, but at the same time he Informed him that it the money was his he should have It withouteither trouble or eapense. Setae time after he learned that Williams had offered a lawyer fifty dollars to get the money out of bank, and this at once confirmed the suspicions of the Mayor that there was something wrong, Further Inquiry revealed the fact that. Wllliams had deposited the money (or one year, but It had not been In bank two days until a woman presented a latter or order for the possession of It, but of course the bank officers contd not let her or any body else hate it until it was due. It further appeared that Williams had sold the certificate to a party In Cleveland, on the 15th of September, and that he had no claim on the money whatever. He was then taken Into custody and handed over to Provost Marshal Foster, who recognized him as an old bounty jumper, and at once placed him under guard. His object was to get ,the money before it was due, In order that he might swindle the party to whom belied sold the certificate. It was a sharp dodge, but it did n't Accident on the Pennsylvania Railroad Three Men Killed and one Fatally In Jared. We are indebted to Mr. J. McC. Thiele unfortunate men were riding timether myth° sareoplatform, between two ears, Never before did an accident so, fatal to the crew of a train occur on this road. The passenger train, due here at half-past one o'clock Thursday 'morning, was detained four hours in consequence of this accident.
