A correspondent writes as fellows : The ex

They are certainly not a bad pair of twins to

Oil Is being transported to Titusville and - to
the Allegheny, at a cost of 53,15 per baxrel. The
transportation now costs mach more than the
oil Itself. It Is hoped that tho railroad from 01l
City, which has been allady surveyed, will be
constructed ns soon as male. With a' few
more large wells, there will hardly be tankage
room, unless some more speedy way of getting
the crude to market be sconetdopted. Titusville
is bound to have a plank road to thin point, but .
when:her planks era rotting, our iron road to
Oil City will liti as firm as ever. Betwixt the
generous rivalry of throe, our northern and

there Is Lope that something will be done to rees•

The title to the Hooker farm, adjoining the

claimants $107,000, It Is said, and now It is "all
right." Lenses on this farm hare been selling
all the way from three to ten thousand dollars
for a half acre.
This tee city which has grown up about as
suddenly as Jonah's gourd, Is still the grand
centre of attraction. It is simply marvelous.

The Kerr Farm Oil Company. principally
owned by Messrs. Brewer, Watson Co., of
Titusville, have for some time been engaged In
putting down a well on this place, on toe north
east side of the town, winch la now one thou
sand two hundred and tiarty feet deep. It is
located on Spring Run, and a report is current
that they have struck the thirdaand welt, and
have a splendid show for oil.
There ure many skeptics who have donided
the existence of a third sand rock to thiaregieu.
This development, if true, proves the truth of
what the geologists have ass mud, Ishich is that
the third sand rock is the great basin, on these
data, lays from twelve to fourteen hundred feet
deep. And a practical knowledge of this fact
may soon make thla locality the great Lead
quartera of Mowing wells in the oil regions.
