ALLEGHENY CATTLE MARKET
Reported Expressly for Pittsburgh Gazette.
Alzmingserr erre, Joao 13 , 1845 -
CATTLE—The market was moderately active,
and steady this week, owing to the fact that the
supply on sale was below the average, although
fully up to the demand. There were several buy.
era in attendance from Baltimore who bought sev
eral bunches for shipment to that market, and to
this and the light supply, may be attributed the
apparent steadiness which characterized the mar
ket this week. Butchers bought rather sparingly
and there were no buyers from either Philadel
phia or New York, and had there been a full sop
ply of Cattle on sale, price* would most undoubt
edly have declined. The best retailing grades sold
at from 6r.,ieg%, while inferior and common grades
