This traffic has, however, now almost entirely ceased on the different railroads leading from the nines to the vs, noun marketi, very many operators having ceased winking. Seven dallies a day had been paid labor ers in the mines, and now, in view of the stringency of the market, It was proposed to reduce the rate to six dollars. This had created so much excitement among the laborers during last week, that it wet feared a serious riot would be the consequence. Yesterday, in nearly every mining centre, the excitement seemed about culminating. At Pottsville, at Mauch Chunk,,at Sclinyl kill.Haven and other places, tho miners as sembled in large numbers, many of them infuriated by spitnous liquors. In some instances women dogs and children accom panied them with yelping noises. The destruction of valuable property was antici pated. At Ashland two coal breakers were burred bythe rioters, and for a time the telegraph wires were severed. Last night seven companies of the 202 d regiment Pennsylvania volunteers, passed through here, en route for the scenes of dis turbance. Pour companies have reached Pottsville, and three have gone to Mauch Chunk. Provisions for a number of days have been sent them, but it is now thought that the disorder has ceased. If these disturbances are continued it is motosed to employ soldiers from the army, who will coon be discharged, in place of the ereiteabie element now working in the mines.
