government ; the work of finding out who are
enabled to vote, and of attending to the nee

upon you.

Gen. El'C ellsn's leiter, and of edvising about
the test means of organizing a pekoe party,

meeting wannalled to order by Mr. Mallaly,
the editor of the Metropolitan Record, who was
appointed President.for the ocession. Among
the gentlemen present were Etagere Orton, of
the Day Book, Elacroasters, of the Freeman' a
detente; Ben. Wood, of the Daily News. Gen.
Singleton and Green, of illinote, Geo.K. Shell,
of Oregan, S. T. Bait, of New 'York, Mann
er, Burr, W. T. Smith Anderson, and others.
All the members present seemed to be mov
ed by the bitterest feelings against Oen. Mc-
Clellan, denounced him as having broken his
pl dge toward the Democratic party, and com
promised its success in the present election.
