The attention of all persons interested in

to the act now pending before our Stab! Leg

The bill has passed two readings and is
likely to beeomo a law. It grants to road
bompsnies the power to charge on one horse
wagons 3 cents per mile ; 2 bone, 6 cents per
mile; 3 horse, 133 i" cents per mile ; 4 horse,
IS -cents per mile, and 6 horse, 98 cents per
mile.
'The ninon rates are folio charged for "coal,
iron, stone, coke, oil, wood, copper, trick, or
other teams hauling heavy weights."
• The buggies and other spring vehicles,
drawn by one horse, 3 cents per mile. What
! say the saran carriers of the above article*,
• and consumers of coal hauled by teams? The
above inter of toll will increase the price of
coal at least one cent on the bushel.
Wehope the Legislature will pause until the
people are heard from, touching this matter,
as theythave some "rights to berospected" os
