Of course, somekind of retaliatory mess
-urea must be now ree4rted to. There is no
l' alternative. We need not point out the
bearing of the evidence obtained by Gen.
Brum frail the rebel prisoner; as given
above, on the frequently repeated, but
always false, etalements of the Richmond
brigands as to the ration; ate, served out
to Union prisoners in the Libby, on Belle
Island, and elowhere, being the same as
their own troops in the field receive. By
all kinds.of evidence, direct and indirect,
the missereleu liars are exposed. Their
Gunning is confounded, Ind their attempts
to ever-reach are bafded
