This magnificent structure, in beauty and
boldness of architectural design rivaling the
benevolent institutions of the Old World,
will prove a splendid and lasting memorial of
the pnblio spirit and generous charity of the
peeple-of the Empire State. It is situated on
the northern bank of the Susquehanna, upon
i• commending elevation, about two end a
half - miles emit of the village of Binghempton.
The edifice coven an area of about three
acres, and consists of five buildings, 1,953

Lookout. The plan was to run out two
schooners from Mobjack Bay, which to between
