Democratic Ratification 'Meeting at Concord.
CONCORD, N. H., June Firth.—lt is estimat
ed that from six- to eight_thoUsand persons
wore present at the Democratic meeting held
here trrday. Hon. John S. Wells presided,
assisted by thirty Vice' Presidents and six
Secretaries.—Three bands of music were in
attendance. Addresses veers made by the
'President, by Hon. Benj.T.Ush, of Perinsrliia
nia, lion. Harry Hibbard, Hon. 11. W. Itior
risv, Coil. John 11. George, Hon. C. L. Wood
bury and others.
Xesolutions were adopted endorsing the Cin
cinrati Platform and the administration of
Franklin Pierce.
The whole affair was one of the most enthu
siastic and successful demonstrations ever
made in .New thunpshire.. Whenever the
names of Buchanan and Breckinridge were
mentioned cheer followed cheer. The exercises
of the day closed with a, splended exhibition of
fireworks.
Ratification Netting at Boston. _
BOSTON, June . 17.—A large and enthusiastic
Democratic ratification meeting was held at
Paneuil Hall this evening. Oliver Stevens.
president of the common council, :presided.
Speeches were made by the Hon. B. F. Butler,
Hon. Benj. Rush of Philadelphia, Cu!. Isaac H.
Wright and others.
Resolutions were adopted ratifying the nom
inations of Buchanan and Breckinridge, com
mending the administration of President
Pierce, denourming;Know Nothiug,ism, and
also the -attempts which 'have been made to
throw odiu,m on the DemoCra - tic party in con
sequence of an assault made upon a Senator
of Massachusetts, and to raise an act of person
al violence to the dignity of a principle involy-•
ing freedom of speech.

delegate in Congress from Kansas, has also
