We attended the meeting of the Teach
ors' Association at. Windham, and to us
t it was a meeting full of interest and plea-
sure. '
The drive through a fertile and beauti
ful part of county, and meeting the
people•of Windham, whom' we never,had
the pleasure of meeting before, gave us,
profitable and pleaaant recieation- fmm
of duties.
Although the writer has not been act
ively.engaged in teaching for a number of
years, his interest . in the cause of educa
tion isdiumbate4, find he consider!. 'the .
meeting of the A&"coelation at Windham •
:one of `the most profitable and interesting
it has been his 'pleasure to attend., ;. The
discussions were such as would bring out
ideas and. methods that ean be used by
each teacher`and in every school in .the
county. The lecture in .the evening was
one in which we wore deeply:interested,.
and would take ileasure in. giving the
educational columns for its publicatiow
It was full of practical thought for the
teacher, and was founded on a true and
proper conception of man, his nafure and
capabilities.
Another feature of the meeting was, to
Mll-upen different teachers to give their
ethods of teaching different brancheN
and with what success. The benefit of
this exercise, we think, was in this : that
the me: hods suggested have .all been. ,
used in the common, ungraded country
school, and were not applicable only_to
graded, towil,,or city schools. '
The interest manifested by the teachers
speaks volumes for the future education
al interest of Bradford counir. -
