nonmsvir. Grmsslux.—We axe highly
pleased to notice that Miss Guitestrwt,
who is al native of this comity, is carping
an enviable reputation, as an elocutionist
and actress. The Roehestsr Democrat no
tices her debut on the stage in that city in
a most complimentary manner. It says
"Miss FLORENCE ClnEmmts was cast
for the role of Mrs. Carter, the wife of
the "relic of the old schoo l," and the
manner in which she handled it brought
her much praise. Doubtless there were
very few persons in that large audience
who had the least idea that the young ta r
(ly was a debutante, and hence the major
itf-will be much surprised when -we state
that this is the case. Until last evening
Miss GREENMAN had never known what
it was to face an audience in even private
theatricals, and hence we say she is de
serving of especial congratulation for her
very promising debut. She acted easily,
gracefully, and, though the character was
of but tittle depth, with appreciation.
Miss GREENMAN has _the advantage of
youth, beauty and Much undeveloped
natural talent which will , we baldly pre
dict, make her very' successful and Topu
lar artiste. She ha's for several ~; y ears
been a favorite' elocutionist throughout
the southern portion ofthe state, and this
is of material assistance in her new pro
fession. Witb study, perseverence and
experience must come success.. Miss

ALTITOVaIi several years have elapsed
since Rev. F. D. Hositrxs removed from

hearts of his former parishoners, and; his
success as a minister of the gimpel affords
pleasure to all who knew him. The fol

church, will be read with pleasure by
many of our readers. It is certainly a
gratification to us to bti able to aids in

a too well balanced man to be unequal in
the discharge of any . official duty, public

with evergreens and flags, and' mounted
on the top were three beautiful children,

We have not the space to notice in de

may safely say the town 'never looked
more beautiful. Across the street lead

beautiful banner.' bearing the cheering
inscription, " I . ‘ elcome to Fountain

Tn the evening the Lin-tas gave a ban
quet to the Fountains and a few invited
guests. This part of the day's enjoy

and delicacies of the season. AfterTthe
removal of the cloth toasts were proposed
