cakes : "To a qaartef cold water
add a good handful of hops and let
then boil .„ then strain ; set over the

a handful-of salt ; cook thoroughly ;
when ego' enough; add. some home
imade.yeast and let it rise until it is
one perfect foam ; then thicken well
with corn meal and make out into
cakes immediately, dry qaickly and
thoroughly, so that the corn meal
will' be - kept sweet. Care must be
taken, if dried near a stove, that it is'
not too hot ; 100 degrees is hot
enough and 90 degreas will do nicely."
