versity for A 873-4, ippears that it
is in a flourishing condition. It has
461 students, and the factft consists
of nearly fifty persons.,-When Con
gress apportioned certain public
lands for the founding of an agricul
tural college in each State, the State
'of New- York, instead .of, starting a
new college, exclusively under the
. control of agrichlturists, adopted this
instead and gave it the control of
141,428 acres 'of land. Yet accord
ing to its register, it is without a
Professor of 4,,etriculture, and the
number of students directing especial
attention to agriculture is seven.
