lington township assembled at Luther's Mills,

follows
Read tied, Thit we *gain assert our fidelity
to the principles of abatinence for oneselvee,
and prohibition for others; and that we pledg
ourseivee to use our I.:finance publicly and pri
vately to render the mannfacturo, sale and nip
of all spritnons liquors a disqualification for of
flea or social position, and that we will make a
stronger effort than heretofore to instruct and
educate the mass of the people to believe with
us, thifsuch sale and use are disgraceful to a
free people and directly opposed to the spirit
and gorius of our government. •
..Resoired, That we mourn and deplore thp
position taken by many of the members of our
churches in this great movement of reform, and
that we urge them, for-the redemption of suf
fering humanity, to unite with us in our efforts
to raise the fallen and save others from falling.
Resolved," That we invite ministers of the
Gospel to i-reach temperance and prohibition
to the people of theircharge, believing them i tia
be a part of the religion of Christ and a !ub
foundation for society.
Resolved. -That we as a temperance peopjfl„

county, as well as our courts, favor the drink
