though it' was not expected; that her life
could be very far prolonged, yet her passing
away teemed sudden, and comes with an effect
of much severity neon husband and children.
She was o woman, both in appearance and in
tellect, much above the average. Mee estima.:

life, and especially during the lopg weary days
of heeeickness. Her goodness

her children, who were bred with 'great care
and tenderness, arid upon whom she bestowed
the whole of a mother's affection. Ons single
example of her pi4aferersies denicinairafes in a
great measure the 'tura of her diepcitition, a
passionate love for flowers, and no one can
have this eo.strongiy developed without being
at bottom as lovely as the loveliest' of them.
And it seemed. as if her 'care for them was re
