brought Sheriff Mooney and a number or other

At 10 o'clock, 11ev. ,Tosr, JEWEL ~.was intro-
duced to the Conventien, and delivered $ very
practical and interesting address, on "The Sa
perintender.t's Difficulties." The speaker held
that the-whole chtirc# should be interested in
the school, and that the fisperintendent should
be chosen by the church. The Pastor Should
conduct the teachers' meetings. The Superin
tendent must learn to govern himself, or he.
Can never govern the school; and must always
realize his responsibility to God; should entlea-,
vOr - to live above the trials and vexations of the
world, not trusting in his own strength, but al
:ways realizing Qv weaker he is in himself, the
Stronger he is in God. •
The large and varied experience of the speak
er, in the &today:school work, gave-additional
weight and interest to 'excellent address.
