cy as is Hon. John T. Morton, the presiding
judge of the district. He is cool, discreet, and
clear-headed, entirely free from prejudice, tho
roughly versed in the law, untainted with the
least suspicion of personal dishonesty, and be
yond the reach of outside pressure from any

ney. Ron. Thomas Ryan, who will have the di
rection and-management of the prosecution, is
also qualified-inn high -degree,. by nature and
acqiiirementiii for a duty so delicate and extra
ordinary. 'He is one of the ablest and shrewd
est lawyers to the State, and has the unques
tioned and unlimited confidence of all who
know him. He will make no mistakes, pro al
low hine•elf to be swayed by no motives bat
those coming from an honest aim to do his
ty and his whole duty, entirely regardless
of personal vied -a and feelings as to the political
features of the controversy. The people need
have no finspicinne or misgivings as to the
manner in which this unprecedented case will
be tried in Judge Mor.on's court.' There will

the truth, whatever it may be, will be brought

no druggist or apothecary shall sell or ketp for
sale under any name or pretense, any prepara
