How to Use Cora Fodder.
,
r The usual method of feeding. corn
'fodder has been hitherto a. very
wasteful oue, though now generally
recognized vabie as an article of feed
.has to some extent brought about a
change in this respect. Yet it isstill
true that the larger portion of the
cornstalks produced is wasted, so
far as its feeding properties are con
cerned. It is t common practice to
throW out - into the barn-yard to the
cattle a quantity of stalks, sometimes
not even unbound, and allow them to
eat what they can and, destroy the
rest. In the fighting and trampling _
done by cattle under such- circum
stances, the greater part of - the fod- i•
der is unconsumed, and becomes 8,
trampled down in the mire or snow, 3 4 .;
a tangled mass of tough, unbroken 1 1 1-!
stalks. There they remain, _ until 6
i s *.lecessary in the sprin g either to
cart them -- utt-to the!fields, or to turn 8
them over in the endeavor to get them 8 ..
rotted. In the one, ease, - they are P
useless as manure, and a very great
impediment to the plow, or harroW,
and ken to . the mowing machine, for
th , s v .o; teen remain on the surface

case, much labor is necessary to get
them rotted, and the tearing - the
mass of them apart and turning them,,
i 'certainly the most severe labor the
farmer is called upon the perform.
sow, with a rational mode of using
them, - this trouble - and. annoyance
can be avoided, and their whole value
as fodder be. made, available. If a
- farmer Owns but one horse and cow,
he can save money by. procuringi a
fodder-cutter, and
_crating up and
feeding his corn-stalks. When few
stock are kept, tha copperstrip -fod

tin dollars or thereabouts, is suffici

'The Concave CoLvex Crystal Spectacles, made by
the abovehastitute are now a long time before the
public, and the npi. - 1 and increased demand for them
combined with , the universal acknowledgment of
their clearness in !Won and ease to the eye, shows
plainly that they are superior to any other glasses
in the mkrket.
r
The majority o Speetaclea, (mostlyt imported) and
no matter how tie the frames, contain but a poor
and worthless article of glasses, (generally cast or
pressed* they aro made to be sold only, without
any calculation respecting benefit to the eye, and'
therefore the great complaint of poor and weak
sight. Thoasands are using glasses now which tire
and fatigue the eye, where the objects get dim after
short usage, or require an intensely strong light
and therefore destroying the sight, which. were they
properly suited, would be preserved a life time.
The advantages claimed for the Concave Convex
Crystal Glasses are the following :
The 'Ansel are ground of the beat material, pure
and hard, and made only for optical purposes, they
axe therefore not liable to get scratched or dim.
They confer a brillianey an d distinctness of vision
not found in any other go -
They can be used equally well by day or candle
light without tiring or fatiguing the eyes.
They are ground mathematically true in the con
cave convex tairror, according to the philosophy of
nature, and shape :of cornea of the eye, therefore
assisting nature only instead of forcing it. •
That the lamas are centered correct into the frames.
They can be used longer thaii any other glasses
without changing to a higher power.
The frames are made strong and durable by expe
rienced workmen and warranted to give satisfaction,
