Fax ItEPORTZu—Dear : I
harp waited nearly our whole College year,
thinking klwrito in article which should lin
awcr the many questions my friends and friends
of education, would like answered. But as I
cannot spend the time, I send by to-dars mail
the pamphlet form tof the artiati last August
published in Scrilmer's Monthly, and trust you
And room'in }our - columns for at least a
part of its contents. It is not: as copulae as
might be, but the flowery description of the
grounds can be omitted, and from the rest yon
can easily arrange a ,%tory satisfactory account
of "our,doiriga."
This year our rising bell does not ring until
62/ A. at., breakfast . 7:15, last retiring bell at
9:15 r. as., thus giving a little move brain, rest.
Will you not make that chailge In the ace6unt,
that whoever roads may see we do not adhere
to the barbarous practice of 'some . educational
institutions. The College and its appointments
are wot.deriul, and may be justly regarded with
pride. A trig np the Iludson and a visit here,
is well worth time and trouble.

Tusceitous.—The fourth anniversa
ry of the Progressive Temperance Soddy, held
at East Springhill, bray SO, was a success. Ow
ing to the " weeping skies," the a. w. exercises
were held in the Church. The P. T. Society
from Camptown, came over in force, headed by
the Camptown Brass Band, composed mostly
of members. The Tuscarora Creek Band was
also on band, so that there was no lack of mu
sic. We should like to speak a good word for
the Band boys, but they are capable of doing
ti-it own blowing. We did not hear the annual
report of the President nor the address of Boy.
Bunnonius.
Dinner was served np Pic-nio• fashions and
there was "enough and to spare." Then came
a march to Band music, headed by Marshal
AVERY. =Bev. P. It. Tows!' gave an addiers on
"Self-CliNernment," containing many good
points and illaatrations. Avner represent
ed the Camptown Society in a short speech,
followed by a declamation intitled " Our Starry
Flag'," by a member of the Camptown Band.
Mrs. SEAGRAVES then gave a forcible and . Oa
quent address on the right_and duty of woman
to work in the temperance reform. A copy was
requested for publication. Misses °maw=
and STCRLF.V.ANT sung, it'll marry no man 11
he drinks." Bev. D. C. Batista ' responded
briefly to a call, and the people dispersed, say
ing in regard- to the nest anniiersary, "May I
be there." The exercises wore enlivened' by
sonms from East Springhill choir, and stirring
airs from the Bands. Who will say the cause
of temperance is not progressing? And we put
Prxelt s rurYi down as the banner township itithe
temperance Callal.

TO THE PEOPLE OF BRADFORD Ctilif
Tr. —Tho "Guide-Board to Ile:kith, Peace d
Competence," by W. W. HALL. M. D., of Ne
York, is a royal octavo of no pages, and ono of -
the most useful books that any family can pos
sets. The author is the editor of Hell's lour
not of Math, and is universally known as ono
of the best physicians in the country, and of no
ono are the writings and opinions on health so
extensively quoted by the newspapers at large,
and so conscientiously relied upon by the whole
people, as are those of Dr. Bann. Tice " Guide-
Board." is tluiDr.'s largest work, and is written
in so plain a manner that all can readily under
stand its teachings. As a medical friend and
adviser it is invaluable,, saving its cost many
times daring the year by giving 'information
that otherwise : would necessitate the expense
of calling a physician. We have subscribed for
this Family Safeguard, and we would advise
our readers to follow tho example. road what
our most prominent physicians say of It:
The "Guide-Board to health, Peace and
Competence," by Dr. IL, we consider tho most
practical and flatlet! book of the kind extant.
It is full of shrewd medical common sense, is
free from Wein:at:4 Is written in a suf
ficiently plain style a u to understand. Every
family should possess a copy, 'read it, and .
'low„its teachings. Attention to %opts= Medi
cal directions and hygienic rules contained in
this work, we believe would save the =mina.
