the sesentific name of stigostedium aniericanum,
shall henceforth not he taken in any of the
streams meant to be inchided in this Act, du
ring their spawning time, that is to say, be
tween the first 'of - February and the first of
June in an; year; and the mode of proof of
such tak ng. and the penalty for the same, shall
in the same as provided for the case of the sal
mon and the black bass in this Act.
The' enalty is five dollars for each fish taken
Or had in possession,•or in default of Payment
of said fine, to undergo an imprisonment in the
jail of the county in which they shall have been
convicted for • term. of ten days; possession of
fish is Ptimir facie evidence to convict, unless
shown that they were not taken from - the Sus
quehanna or its tributaries.

the lith.ult., in the / 67th ycar of his age. - The
Gazette says :
"Mr. Maynard was born m Vermoht, in the
year 1803, and came to Pennsylvania with his
father, gimbal Maynard, when about nine
years old. His father settled in Trey towtivhip
near the late family residence, and there Mr.
Maynard resided till his death. - At the time of
his coming, there were but two houses in the
rillage of Troy.. He was married to Clarissa
Ore coo when about 33 years of age, and she
died a year ago last September, at the ige op
pisty-four. Mr. May Hard was au active business
man, and one who.ni Lis relations to his neigh
bors was peculiarly happy, slid he will be miss
ed by a large circle of friends, wile well knew
his wixtli. The immediate cane of his death
was paralysis, but its :emote cause was atimjn

fire, I found all my account books and papers--

apieudid condition; thenaelting.of the glue of
the binding of the books was all the damage
