Moro or loss of the tithe, and eachone wita
ready and die do work for the Master: Twenty
tio sermons were - preached from the stand,
Vesicles exhortations, love feasts,_ and•praier-'
meetings in the altar and in the tents. -It was
emphatically a " week of prayer." The church
was quickened; predigaVturned ; believers
were perfected in love - : • * then I have the
-names of seventy who cam64ll trembling and
in tears to the altar for, prayer. Some of these
are claildren--some blooming maidens —some
young men--some mon and theit -wives in the
vigor of life, and some had live[l i tn . sin three
score years. But our Jeans is nor respecter of
-nous, and ho pardoned their sins_ irrespect
ive of age. Sixty of this company 'professed
hope in Christ; some of the others "looked
back," and are not fit for the kingdom, 'and
some left the ground from noctehs - ity and we are
not advised as to them. Then let no man Pay
"your labor is in vain in the Lord," for. "ho
-that reapoth roceiveth wages, 'and gathereth
fruit unto life etoimal."
Very truly yours,

oflthe'newest settled townships in this region,
and I should Judge (moil the -very best. Re

thirty years ago, I was surpnipl to see so many
good farms and superior

the soil is almost free from stone,,and the roads
Charles
are the best I observe(' anywhere.
Charles Sqffires settled here about 1820, the
'township was formed in 1837, and now has two
hUndred . and thirty voters. There aro three
bonkes of ,public worship, and four churches,
theerrner of a superior, order, and the latter
appiarently useful bodies. Frugality and tem
pegance aro characteristic of the people. The

something about firming, and that he lives "at
home." He stands fairly among his neighbors

would not have bought a machine with a .com

to Lind a machine outside the combination which
has proven, in myjudgment, equal to any in it.
The difference in the price I consider so much
money saved. We have used machines in our
