STEVENSWILLE.—After waiting and
hoping that somebody who knot something
would "get. up" and write for our busy little
town, and despair has at length settled down
upon our faces,'and now "nobody" will scribble
a little or nothing. Perhaps all are too busy
to tell the neighboring towns of our success, in
brdness, meetings, lodges, lc.
Meetings hare been 'carried on for the last
four weeks, attended with a goo deal of in
terest. They were held at the Presbyterian
and Methodist churches, uniting to preach
" Christ and film crucified." Oh may they win
many sonls to Christ, life is so short viatiOrs
must hasten if they would make their calling
sure.
Our lodge . is in a . proiperotii ow:edition ar
gadzecl two mouths ago, beginning with only
nineteen members, (a litde feeble band) but
now is Wm:Sisal .to forty-five, and still they
come. May they be true to their pledge—not
even drink cider in secret.
To strangers passing through our town we
'would say, if "hunger is gnawing their vitals"

there you will find crackers, cheese, - nuts,
candy, besides all the wearables far old and
young. If thee should be tired and many miles

about as flourishing a little town as any around
us, consisting of three stores, two hotels, three
blacksmith shops, cooper shop, =titan maker,
milliner shop, a saw mill and large grist, mill,
owned formerly by E. B. OTONT:, and Brother.

ing good success in his mildness,
