NOPMEERN CENTRAL RtILWAY.—A
number of projects, in the way of additional
connt ctMn, are now being carried out or talked
of. for the greater efficiency of the road. The
Washington branch, from Baitimore, is being
prosecuted to a si eedy completion, one million
dollars having been already expended +n the
four miles of tunnel, which is to run dirtctly
beneath the city Of Baltimore, and give passage
fir the track, n Melt wid c,ntinue on directly
from the present Baltimore terminus to the ci
ty of Washington, thus making an m.broken
bet sten that and Rochester, with no change
of ears or long onmibus drive, as at present,
forced upon Northern passengers proceeding
on to Washington, through Baltimore. Anoth
er million trill build and furnish the road-bed,
from the termination of the tunnel to Washing
ton. Grading has already begun on this divi
sion.
With a through; unbroken route toVashing.
ton, the Northern Central will offer superior In
duciments over all other routes fur Western
and Northern passengers. .Again, the building
of the Elmira and Utica road will insure the
building of a branch from Tioga, Pa., down the
Seeley Creek Valley, to unite with the main road
near the shops in the Fifth Ward; to afford a
more direct coal line from Plussburg, Ps., to
-Utica. And the old plan, for a road from Car.
andaigua to Lake Ontario (the Pultney route),
is being revived again, Me winter, with greater
vigor than ever, to give another coal outlet on.
Lake Ontario, and carry a market to a rich ag
ricultural region.

sight of. Eneouragem. nt is ofered by the
Company at every point where mutual benefit
shall induce investments of capitalists, and the

DR. CLARK,
ritOFSMOB OF
ANATOMICAL PATHOLOGY,
AND PHYSICIAN POl THE
EYCLUSIVE TREATMENT
CHRONIC IWAsys.'
All consultation and Examinations
of Patients made Free of Charge.
Do. Clark emmines and explains your disease
udhout asking any qiiestions. If be understands
your ca.(' you know it; and cannot be deceived. It
he cannot tell your disease and how you feel without
asking questions. he dots not csmakkr himself com
petent to treat yodr case. This Is the criterion to go
by, and patients should not be eatialled with any
other. This is the only direct and positive evidence
of my ability as a scientific physician, and by this
standard I em willingto bejudged.
Dr. Clark trcats no caeca unless conscieneacmaly of
the opinion that it can be cured or permsnenUy
henetitted.-
•
lir. Clark treats no case unless he can deacribetha
disease and its symptoms w.tbont interrogating his
patient.
Dr. Clark will treat no Chronic Disease unless, be
can explain its character to the complete, and perfect
satisfaction u 2 the patient examined. And the Dr.
would here most positively state, that he desires no
patient to take treatments from him, unless they are
fully and completely satisfied with his consultatiens
and exarniustimis, which are made free from ckarge.
Dr. Clark bases his practice ripen the ineontro•
vertible law of Nature. Fireti—Thst every cause
has an effect. Second—That ..Idiseases are causes
producing effects er symptoms; and that
_every dis
ease has its own peculiar effects er symptoms, which
if properly or thoroughly nnderstood by the exam
leg Physician. can be clearly pointed out to the
complete satisfaction of the patient examined.
Dr. Clark's method of 'diagnosing or explaining
diseases and their symptoms is only the process of
reasoning from causes to effect, and has been ac
quired by thorough literary and medical culture, and
also by an almost unlimited practice in every form
of disease to which the human system Is liable.
By this process of reasoning the Doctor. has te.
quired a reputation and snores* In treating diseases
seldom attained.
Dr. Chat le making quite n number of convenient
appointments fur the beeeilt of invalids who cannot
go a long distance to consult him. Patients will dud
this an opportunity 'rarely offered, and one they
should not fail to take advantage of.
