Go re Fissrtim.—A good living is
what comparatively few men succeed
in making in Village or city life; and
yet nothing is' more easy of accom
plishment on a farm. Besides, these
is a pleasure AL cultivating and em
belishing the earth, improving and
increasing its products, and thus-ad

SHORT RIILZ TO MRABURE GRATR.-•-•
An exchange says : It is convenient to
fai:nem and purchasers to have an
easy and correct rule by which to
measure corn in cribs. Here is one:
having leveled the corn in the crib,
measure the length, breadth and de
duct from the product one-fifth, and
you have the Mambor of bushels in
the crib ; for shelled corn take one
half. To be strictly correct, add a
half bushel for every , one hundred.
Persons who are fond of cyphering
can test the eorreetnes. of thts rule
by taking 1,070 uolieinches, for a
foot., and 2,150 inches in a bushel,
and see that the latter is nearly one
fifth larger than the former.
