the nominating Convention was
changed by last fall's Contention' from
the first Monday of September to the
/List Monday in August, and the time
of electing delegates, of course, to the
Saturday previona to the Conventicrh.
Reference to the call of the County
Convention, will show the dates, and
also the names of the persons appoint
ed as Vigilance Committees. This
change was made in accordance With
what seemed to be the universal de-'
sire of the Repnblicans of the County,
as the holding of Conventions on
Monday evening of September Court,
was attended with serious inconven
ience, and when candidates for many
offices were to be elected, did not,
give time enough for careful consid
eration. Itis to be hoped that this new
arrangement will cure the evils some
times complained of, by bringing to
