meeting of the directors of this road was
held in Auburn last tieek, — When the Chief
Engineer presented to the Board a state
ment sho!ing the.progress of the work be:

sum of $108,642 had been expended and
paid thereon -up to September last ; and
that a further expenditure of $274,930 will
complete the roadbed, including bridging,
fencing and ties, ready for the track. It is
estimated that two thirds orall the grading
is now complete, and nearly all the bridging
is done. Work will be begun in Auburn at
an early day, and the whole enterprise
seems to be in a sound healthy state.
