TENNESSEE ELECTION.
The great Struggle in the State of
Tennessee boa-terminated gloriousiy
to the Republican cause; which has
triumphantly carried the State by a
majority of atiout thirty thousand.
Every county in middle and east
Tennessee, anfar as , heard from, has
given Republican majorities. Middle
Tennessee alone gives Brownlow for
Governor 15,000 majority, and • the
Republican candidates for Congreds,
who are elected iu every district, rnn
ahead of Brownlow. Of the extent
of this sweep our readers may 'judge
when we tell them' that to the State
Senate twenty &publiearis are ,elec

eighty-one Republicans_ and two Con

G. Brownlow, editor and publisher of
the Knoxville , Whig, • whose exile
during the civil war, and heroic re
sistance to rebellion,l have made him
a target for the abuse alike of rebels
at the south and rebel sympathisers
at the north, has been re-elected
