Tiogs had a horse stolen from his barn,and
Joseph Linty in the same neighborhood,
lost a buggy the same night. The thief'
was prusli,d into Pennsylvania, overtaken,
arrested, and lis now a guest of Sheriff
Truesdell. His name is Winfield, and he
hails from Strait's Cornellih—Owego Gaz.

name of ibis "bold criminal is ' said to be
George Rogers, (he gave his name here as

Windhani in Pennsylvania: He has served
a term of two in a Pennsylvania Penitenti
ary, and tve hope he may still be caught
and be awarded a third term: for this last
chapter in his 'abut record.

AccinENT.--Thwe was an explosiOn
in Doct. Ayer's Laboratory, yesterday,
which caused some excitement in the vicin
ity. Ayer's Pills are manufactured under
an enormous pressure, in cylinders, like
cannon, which sometimes prove too weak
for the compresse4 'forces, and burst with
terrific violence. 'Fortunately, the pieces
do not fly far, so that no one has ever been
hurt by them. The action is more him ice
