PIANO. —The Moravian Seminary,at Bethlehem, Pa., has the acknowledged reputation throughout the United States of sus taining a very large and successful musical depart ment. There is a large corps of music teachers, and no less than thirty-seven pianos in the build ing, comprising instruments from all the most prominent makers. Last May, hearing of the great improvements that had been introduced into the Decker Pianos, one was purchased as an expe riment for the use of the school. The following very flattering letter has lately been received from Rev. Francis Wolle, the Principal of the Institu tion, concerning the success of the instrument.— This testimonial, it will be observed, has great weight from the fact that an excellent opportunity is there afforded for comparing the tone of the Decker Bros. I'iano with others, and also the fact that the instruments are used solely for their edu cational interests, and never kept on sale. Conse quently there is no pecuniary advantage derived fromjattacliing a name to a testimonial, as is often the case in the city. BETHLEHEM, Pa., July 28th, 1866. Air.. L. B. POWELL, SCIUNTON PA.— Dear Sir:— The piano purchased of you, of Alessrs. Decker Bros, make, I have now about two months in dailv and hard use. lam delighted with it. It is an excellent instrument in every .respect. Combining, besides the superior workmanship, a fine touch, a depth, richues, and volume of tone, and such a perfect evenness throughout the entire scale as we rarely fiud. If this is the character of all of Deck er Bros. Instruments I can cheerfully and warmly recommend them. I could want nothing better. Yours truly, FRANCIS WOLLE. L. B. Powell, 116 Pcnn avenue, Scranton, Pa., has the wholesale agency of Decker Bros l'ianoes for a large part of Pennsylvania and New York State, and is selling a large number of them. Skxr" ! he friends of the Bradford County Sunday School Association are invited to attend a 1 nion Sunday School Celebration at Mountain Lake, in Burlington, on Thursday, August 23. The schools that were there on September 11th, 1865, are expected to he present and any other schools that desire to come, and can reach the place in season, are cordially invited to join.— Speakers are engaged and the Smithfidd Brass Band, A\ . Dittrich, Leader, will be iu attendance. Punctual attendance is earnestly desired. Let us have a grand rally of the Sunday School Army in Western Bradford. By order of Committee. FOR THE REPORTER. TIIT' readers of the REPORTER, 1 am sure, always rejoice to hear anything of good re port in Bradford. We have materials sufficient to fill the Local Column every week with gladsome news. Greater victories were nowhere gained than some we have known and just now hear of in our midst. More than on has said of late, "If my example with • the cup ' make uiy brother to stum ble, that • right hand ' shall be ' cut off.' " Better is such au one " than he that taketh a city." As sure as " the LORD icigueth," cruel King Al cohol, with all his tender, merciful emissaries will ; come to grief and fail. Because CHRIST will "put all enemies under his feet," therefore the church militant will ere long arise and subdue this fearful j enemy, ui of all subversive of the happiness of the hui.. .;i I twily. Because the AVord of GOD no where sanctions the use of drink which intoxicates, and because that word will " all he fulfilled," there fore the time is certain to come when Christians must, as they should now, occupy the same posi tion of total abstinence from intoxicating drinks. ! Brethren ol the church, let us one and all come in- ! to the Apostolic Succession aud take the ground j which ST. PAUL virtually did in i Cor. viii. 13, "If drink make my brother to offend, I will taste no I drink while the world stanileth, lest I make my ! brother to offend." PROCTUM. j JOHNSON MEETING !—A llaming handbill, calling a meeting to organize a Johnson Club, brought together a few of the faithful, at the Court I House, on Alouday evening last. It was altogeth- j era doleful affair, as if the "simon-pures" were i somewhat ashamed to be designated as a party by ; the name of the man they have so lately and | thoroughly abused. HARRY AYARD was chosen j temporary chairman, and an organization effected, i Col. 11. B. MCKEAX being elected permanent Pres- \ ideut of the Club. These two names will give a fair idea of the political character of the Club. It j was simply a Copperhead movement, and will not '■ deceive any one, why is not anxious to be cheated j into the support of CLYJIER.
